This year the Anniston High School Health Science Program will be participating in the "Healthy Vitals" project. The purpose is to encourage activities that promote health and wellness among the school community, as well as the city of Anniston. Our goal is to involve all students, school personnel, local citizens, and our local officials to support us as we lead the way to healthier living and making good choices. As we begin the 2010-2011 academic year, the HOSA members and myself will collaborate and solicit student input to determine the types of activites to promote. The Alabama Association, Health Occupations Students of America (HOSA), will present a special award to a local chapter participating in a project that implements strategies and/or activities that promote health and wellness. We want to have our project and application submitted to the state office by January 14, 2011. The winning chapter will be presented a plaque and a $100 cash award at the HOSA State Leadership Conference. So I would like to encourage all students, parents, city leaders, faculty, and staff to support in this new and exciting endeavor!
Thanks,
Ms. Smith
