Dear Parent/Guardian,

Welcome to a new and exciting school year.  Congratulations! Your student is part of a cooperative, hard-working, and academically successful class.  I know that your student has the ability to achieve academic success.  It is my responsibility to demonstrate that ability to your students so that, in turn, he or she will demand academic success of himself or herself.

What you can expect from me:
  • I believe in your child's ability to be a successful student.
  • I work hard to meet your child's educational needs.
  • I strive to infuse our classroom with a strong work ethic.
  • I have consistently high expectations for academic achievement.
  • I will be available to address your questions and concerns on the phone or at school.
  • I will update grades twice weekly in iNOW. (Usually Tuesdays & Thursdays)
What I expect from your student:
  • I expect your child to arrive at school each day, on time, with all completed homework assignments/projects/school supplies.
  • I expect your child to take pride in his or her work.
  • I expect your child to abide by our Class Rules and Anniston City Schools Policies and Procedures.
  • I expect your child to further develop and demonstrate self-control, self-respect, and self-esteem.
What I expect from you:
  • I expect you to ensure that your child is completing any homework or out-of-class projects as assigned.
  • I expect you to sign or complete all necessary paperwork that is sent home.
  • I expect you to contact me if you have specific questions or concerns.
  • I expect you to ensure that all necessary class fees and materials are paid and obtained by the due dates.
I look forward to working with your child throughout the year.  Please do not hesitate to contact me to set up an individual conference.  I look forward to getting to know you throughout the year.

In the spirit of success,

Ms. Smith
